Still getting over the jet lag, but all worth it.The show in Leon Spain went great, and was sold out.Over 3,000 fans came to see the bands perform. There was some problems with baggage and guitars not making it in time. Thanks to Call snd Play and the help of the other bands we still were able to go on.

Finally back here fter a few months of chaos. The Electric Prunes album "Feedback"was released last Monday, and our first show is next week.

We will be headlining the Purple Weekend http://www.purpleweekend.com festival in Leon Spain on Sat.Dec.9th.

Recording with SHM has been going fantastic, the final mix of our first song was completed by Roey Shamir of infx productions.

I will be going back to DrumTech in London for a clinic on April 27th.I also did more tracks over the weekend for In From Zero. My Purple Sparkle set sounded great thanks Dave.

Just visited the site of a very dear friend and great musician Mark Cunningham.

That was some of the best playing I ever did,I was inspired by his enduring drive for a great sound and great songs.A great time in my life.I wish him continued success.

Today I confirmed another clinic in London at DrumTech for April 27th.I am looking forward to visiting the school and all my friends there Darren and Francis and especially my old student Erik.Things are also moving forward with Simple HD,I received the first track from Percy Jones the other day and it sounds really sick.More news very soon.

1/27/06

Haven't been here for a while, ever since my brother went into the hospital in Florida. The good news is he is going to be alright. This has been very hard on my family, but it's all part of life.

Life is fragile.enjoy yourself.

On a positive note I survived NAMM.I also got a chance to visit with lots of old friends. Nigel and the boys at Premier have introduced the Keith Moon pictures of Lilly kit in limited edition. The set looks fantastic.

More on what's going on next time.

12/15/05

Last week I recorded another 3 tracks with the Electric Prunes in their studio. The music has really been fun and a challenge.Mark and James are both very creative and easy to work with.Things are as usual starting to slow down for the Christmas Holidays.I am looking forward to the break and a visit from my parents.

11/21/05

New stuff to report, new pics loaded into the photo section.I found some great old shots, which prompted me to call my old buddy Mr.Rock from SnakeRock.I am happy to report he is doing well and we will soon make some plans to record new material. More recording in the works with the Electric Prunes again due shortly.

11/16/2005

I have been in touch with Dann Glenn guitarist/composer/author, and we will be staring a new musical venture together with legendary fretless bassist Percy Jones. The cd will be called "Simple Harmonic Motion". More on this as it all develops.

11/15/2005

Did some recording over the weekend with The Electric Prunes.Had a great time with the guys and got 2 tracks down. Will write more details as this develops.

10/17/05

I received another old band photo, this time from my close friend Dave.Neverland was a group that should have but never really launched. After many countless hours of recording and rehearsing,it never got off the ground. This was really a travesty as the band could have done very well. The basic premise of the material was a vampire story told in music and lyrics. We recorded about 2 albums worth of solid material probably never to be heard.Why?...........I really don't know.Just one of those things that happens where the band missed it's time and now is a distant memory.I will post the photo today and see if I can put some of the bands music for all to enjoy.I had fun recording this stuff it was very powerful and yet eerie music.

10/7/05

Today I found a piece about my last clinic at Drum-Tech in London from an Italian website.Thought I would share it.By the way it was translated by Google so some of it is a little off.

WALTER GARCES
of Percussions
20/09/2005

Professional from 31 years, the former student of Henry Adler is in its turn teaching with ribbons (thoughts that the great Jim Keltner has entrusted it its son...). In the course of a recent one clinic to the prestigious British school Drum Tech, Garces has spoken about ups and downs of its emphasized career and to as a good technique is in relationship directed with the possibility to have a long career (moreover Walter is one courageous assertor of the matched grip). Information on the activities and the course of the Drum Tech can be demanded to Darren Suckling email address darren@drum-tech.co.uk.

Thanks again to Francis,Darren and Erik for having me.

10/6/05

I got an email from a very close old friend..Jay the guitarist from a band I worked with years ago "Denmark"This was very unique and talented band with all good people.A very rare situation with unusual music and different personalities. This was a time when I really enjoyed being in a band.We held our rehearsals at night on the stage of the Beverly theatre, how cool was that.Cranking up the whole PA system at times and blowing some serious sounds.Skip the sax player would take some awesome solo's,as all the players could.

Tragically the band dissolved after Sheeba the bass player crashed into a car on his Harley. It is very hard to keep a band going after a tragedy strikes home like that.We all were so close that this actually drove us apart.Over the years I have fond memories of performing with Denmark.I will post some of the bands recordings up on this site soon. This was very similar to the Red Alert situation with Frankie. We also have all grown very far apart over the years.Talk to you soon Jay

This is where I will be placing many of my life's journey. Some of the times and events I will write about will be very funny and others, just strange and maybe unbelievable.

I can assure anyone reading this it will be the truth every time.

First I would like to thank my teachers that have shared with me the knowledge that has allowed me to survive and pursue my dreams.First I would thank my father who first determined the early directions of my life.My two drum instructors Carmine Appice and Henry Adler, who showed me what it takes to survive in the music business and stay true to myself.Kayo my Martial Arts instructor,he changed my life forever with the knowledge he shared with me.

Also all the drummers and musicians, too numerous to mention that I have met or worked with in all the years I have been involved in music.
